MEMBERSHIP TERMS

  • The EMEAA bylaws establish the criteria required for membership. 

  • Membership will be recognized upon receipt of membership dues as prescribed by the Board of Directors. Terms of membership shall be for one year or Life. Individuals may elect to pay for one, two, or up to three years at one time.  

  • ​A one-year full membership shall be subject to renewal during the month that the member initially joined the Association.

  • ​Membership dues, which may change due to financial need, are as follows:

    • One-year full membership/adjunct membership: $35

    • Life membership: $300

Your company may cover EMEAA membership dues. If your employer does, you may use this request template along with your membership dues invoice to support your dues payment request.

 


FULL MEMBERS

 

WHO CAN JOIN

  • Current or former international and U.S. external affairs officials at the local, state, and federal level directly related to emergency management functions, retired or separated. For FEMA staff this includes Permanent Full-Time (PFT), Cadre of Reserve On-Call Employees (CORE), Reservists, Interns, and Local hires. 

  • International and U.S. external affairs officers, staff, liaisons, and other private sector representatives, active and retired, whose external affairs work relates(ed) to emergency management. External Affairs is defined as public information officers, congressional liaisons, Intergovernmental liaisons, private sector liaisons, tribal affairs liaisons, community relations liaisons, international affairs liaisons, and other spokespersons whose primary duties are to engage with external stakeholders. 

Should a position lack clarity to qualify, the Board of Directors will vote to determine the appropriate membership category.  


 

ADJUNCT MEMBERS

WHO CAN JOIN

  • Any person not eligible for membership under the above category may become a member upon favorable recommendation by the Membership Committee and approval by the Board of Directors (BOD).  This includes international external affairs officials, public or private, related to emergency management.

  

 

LIFE MEMBERS

WHO CAN JOIN

  • These members will not be required to pay additional dues. They will retain full voting rights unless or until they choose to terminate membership.  In addition, in all records and appropriate publications they will be recognized as Life Members, perennially eligible for Director positions.
